Oh hi there! Long time no blog. In the most first world of all problems I’ve been without a computer for the last 6 months and blogging without one is pretty hard truth be told. Short story long, things should be back on track over the next few weeks, so buckle up and let’s get back to it.
A couple of weeks ago we headed over to Southend so that we could go for lunch at a place I’ve had on my list ever since moving out of London, the Railway Pub.
The Railway is a hotel, a very well loved music venue and a pub with a cracking vegan menu.
The staff are super friendly, the decor is really cool and they don’t charge extra for condiments. When can I move in??
It’s been a while since my last Zizzi post, since then they have started offering more and more and more and have firmly placed themselves at the top of the UK High Street for Vegans.
With the recent addition of the Chocolate torte pudding, they’re just getting stronger and stronger! View Post
OK, THIS IS AN URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT!
I tried the Peanut Butter Mud Brownie by Young Vegans and I need to tell you about it in this lil’ blog post of chocolatey joy! View Post
Last night the wonderful Ruby & Pickles celebrated their first birthday by hosting an evening of delicious dishes, bubbly, tunes and general good times at the uber cool loft style space Blank 100 in Dalston.
If you haven’t already heard of Ruby & Pickles then 1) Where have you been!? and 2) R&P was formed in the Spring of 2016 by friends Sareta & Jasel who wanted to put their love of cooking to work by creating themed supper clubs around London that are all homemade, Vegetarian/Vegan and sold out (book quickly!). When I moved out of London a few months ago and into deepest darkest Hertfordshire, one of my biggest worries (because I’ve totally got my priorities right) was that there would be a huge lack of Vegan options.
We were utterly spoilt for choice living in Hampstead. We were a five minute walk away from Le Pain Quotidien, with their chilli and their chocolate cake, and Silverberry Cafe, with their delicious Banana Bread. We were a five minute bus ride away from Club Mexicana, ten minutes on the tube to Yorica and we could get Firezza delivered directly to our door.
Thankfully our new tiny Town does have a few places we can eat out at, we’ve got a banging Chinese (that I’m frighteningly addicted to), our local cafe has a Vegan breakfast and I’ve been helping some other local business to work on adding some Vegan options. It’s certainly turned out to be an easier transition than I anticipated.
Since we’ve moved outside of the M25, we’ve been searching out all of the Vegan places the home counties has to offer.
First on the list was, of course, The Den in Colchester. Opened by Husband & Wife duo Rob & Jen in 2015, they are famous for their epic burgers and beautiful cakes, I’ve been drooling over their Instagram for years and my visit did not disappoint. View Post
