CHINESE TAKEAWAY STYLE CRISPY SHREDDED CHILLI “BEEF”

Makes 2 portions

Very spicy, consider yourself warned!

For the sauce:

1 carrot, thinly sliced
1 small red bell pepper, thinly sliced
2 red finger chillies, thinly sliced
3 spring onions, thinly sliced
1 thumb sized piece ginger, thinly sliced
3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon chilli flakes
1 teaspoon chilli powder

Fry all of the above for 2 mins.

In a separate bowl or jug or gore-tex lined shoe mix the following –
1 tablespoon white vinegar
6 tablespoons soy sauce
4-6 tablespoons sweet chilli sauce
1 tablespoon ketchup
15g caster sugar

Add this to the pan of veg and simmer for a further few minutes then combine it with the Fry’s Family Chicken or Beef Style Strips (cook straight from frozen – fry for 10 minutes).

Once fried they resemble the traditional crunch of Crispy Shredded Chilli Beef so they work perfectly in this dish.
