Merry Christmas, Folks! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, spent lots of time with your loved ones, ate lots of tasty food and got a few glorious presents!
I came down with a chest infection the Sunday before Christmas and I’m still sick now, so it’s not been the best but I think I’ve made the most of it! View Post
“I wanted to bring real Italian food to Britain” – Priscilla Conran
The first Carluccio’s café was opened in 1999 in London, by Antonio Carluccio (one half of the Two Greedy Italians) and his then wife Priscilla Conran (of The Conran Shop). Carluccio’s now has over 80 branches in the UK, 2 in Ireland and 6 in the Middle East. They have quite a large non-Vegan menu as well as small food shops in their stores – (my Nan bought one bottle of olive oil while we were there for about £25!!)
A few weekends ago we were looking for a Vegan & Omni-friendly place for a family celebration and Carluccio’s seemed like a good option for us all. Although from a quick glance at the menu you can see they only have one Vegan option but the Vegan’s in the group all agreed a bowl of tomato spaghetti would be pretty darn agreeable on a cold Sunday afternoon. Hey, Pals! Oh boy am I berating myself for not taking these pictures on my camera. Sometimes it’s just such a faff to get my camera out and iPhone pics always look fine enough on my phone but when I transfer them to hear I’m like gross. But I just love What I Ate In A Day posts and I really hope they give you some ideas of what you could have for dinner or something new to try etc. so here we are! Let’s deal. We can get through it together.
Last Friday I made this humungous Burrito Bowl featuring white rice cooked in turmeric, black beans cooked in garlic butter (I know), half a Fry’s Family chikn schnitzel smothered in Violife pizza cheese, sweetcorn, courgette, gem lettuce, avocado, tomato and tofu bacon crumbles. I didn’t manage to finish it, but my god did I try my best. TOFU BACON CRUMBLES ON EVERYTHING, PLEASE! View Post
You know the drill, no intro needed. Here’s what I ate today!
Caramalised Chilli Tomatoes, Sautéed Garlicky Chard and Granary Toast with a Soy Latte.
We spent the afternoon with my Sister and nephews and I gave my Sister a mini Tofu masterclass. I showed her how to fry it and how to make Tofu Bacon. Tofu is definitely daunting the first few times you cook with it.
Excited to say she loved it! Baby’s first tofu! View Post
