THREE HOURS OF VEGAN-ING AROUND SHOREDITCH ft. Club Mexicana, Cook Daily, What the Pitta and Leon

Back in September I headed down to Shoreditch with my Mum & Sister in tow to eat all the food and to accompany my Sister whilst she spent an ungodly amount of money on trendy hand soap.

We ate at some of my favourite places, wandered around the shops and stopped to take pictures every four steps (this post is picture heavy and word-lite!). All in all, a very perfect day.

CLUB MEXICANA

Our first stop was obviously Club Mexicana. We went for a trio of Cheese Fries, Chikn Wings and Tacos – Carne Asada and Tofish. It was as delicious as ever.

This was my Mum’s first Club Mexicana and she is now a big fan too! Hopefully soon, the rest of the family will catch up!

I shared a full Dinerama blog post from this visit, come read that here.

Shout out to this Christmas barrel that’s just unapologetically hanging out at Dinerama in September. This wasn’t even the only one!

COOK DAILY

When we got to Boxpark, Mum & I headed straight for Cook Daily. We shared my two favourite CD dishes – the High Grade Bowl with Chikn and the Pad Thai with Prauns. We both upgraded to the £10 meal deal to add 4 spring rolls too (duh).

We were already so stuffed at this point that we had to wrap most of it up to takeaway! Must plan better for my next food crawl!!

WHAT THE PITTA

My Sister had been dying to try What The Pitta from the second she went Vegan. They’re known for making Vegan Kebabs and they now have a permanent spot at Boxpark.

This is the (absolutely ginormous) Kebab Wrap with tatziki and all of the salad. The “meat” is charred, tasty and perfectly tender.

LEON

My Sister alerted me to the fact that Leon have started selling Vegan Milk Free Shakes in their Spitalfields branch (and their Victoria branch) so we popped in on our way back home to give it a try.

They have 4 flavours – Montezuma Chocolate, Blackcurrant, Salted Caramel and Strawberry.

We went for the Montezuma Chocolate. It was rich and thick and reminded me of the new Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Ice Cream. I loved it!

What a perfect day! Also your sister’s soap looks SO dang fancy. Mostly this is reminding me that I need to get my butt down to Club Mexicana. It’s been WAY too long!
