TOM COOKS BBQ PULLED MUSHROOMS

Another recipe from my lovely Husband, Tom. A dish which everyone makes differently; some smoke their mushrooms to get a deeper smokier flavour but I think the time and effort of that just isn’t worth it when you can get mushrooms this tasty in less than ten minutes.

INGREDIENTS

1 teaspoon smoked chilli paste

1 squeeze of BBQ sauce

1/2 teaspoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon hot sauce (if you don’t like your food spicy add vinegar instead)

1 punnet of mushrooms (ideally oyster as they “pull” the best but since the sauce is the real star of the show I don’t think it really matters)

DIRECTIONS

Add the sauces & sugar to a frying pan on on a low heat and stir them together for a couple of minutes.

Then add the mushrooms, shredding them with a couple of forks as they cook/soften up. Shredding them is entirely optional, sometimes we just slice them or half & half, whevs, casual ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
