I’ve followed Adele Vegan Burd for a long while now on Instagram and I’ve been dying to get my hands on some of her handmade vegan chocolate creations. Her chocolate is incredibly popular and whenever I’d see someone on my timeline with a bar (or two) I’d feel more than a little bit envious to say the least!
Vegan Burd chocolate is stocked in lots of coffee shops and cafes across Glasgow but it wasn’t until a few weeks ago that I found out she also offers mail order!! Each bar is £2 and you can purchase them through Vegan Burd’s Etsy shop here.
I immediately placed an order for one of everything (out of what was in stock – I missed out on a Crunchy!!) and a week later I was holding a box of the most beautiful chocolate in the land.
I love the names of everything in the range (I can’t help but say them in a Glaswegian accent in my head!) and the packaging is just gorgeous – everything is wrapped in a vibrant 70’s print.
Muncherz are Vegan Burd’s version of munchies and HOLY CRAP THEY ARE GOOD. Better than Munchies (obvs).
They are made of the most delicious dark chocolate I HAVE EVER HAD, the biscuit is perfection and the caramel is super ooey and gooey. This packet did not last very long at all between me, my Husband and my Mum who pinched a couple what a bitch.
God bless Rollaz. I tried very hard to not play a game of can I fit all five in my mouth at once, instead I let Tom (the aforementioned Husband) have one and I shoved the other four into my
temple of doom mouth.
They’re good, lads. They’re very good. Imagine Rollos but better. That’s them. You got it.
A WAFER A PB BREAK AND A WAFER A BREAK
So I totally forgot to take a picture of the inside of the non-peanut butter one because it was at this point that your girl without a sweet tooth (me) started to get a bit shaky and sugary and highhhhh and emotional over the PB one.
I’m a big wafer fan and apart from one horrible run in with some pink wafers one cold, dark January night, I haven’t had any wafers since going Vegan. What a sad story. Those dark days are over now, my friend.
YER BOUND TAE
Yer bound tae like this one, guys! Guys? Guys!?! Come back, I’ll stop, I promise we are nearly there.
My Dad liked this one. That’s some good praise. That man loves a Bounty. I liked it too. Imagine the Pret Bounty and then imagine eating that whilst Liam Hemsworth serenades you on the ukulele.
Are you still with me? Do you need a moment? Let’s have a Hemsworth moment.
Well done for managing to scroll past that picture of Liam Hemsworth. Proud of you. You can totally go back to it once you’ve finished this review.
Oh mate! Snickers was my favourite chocolate B.V. (before Vegan) and Vegan Burd’s version IS EVEN BETTER! Yep! Stick that in your pipe and smoke it, Mars Corp.
Just look at the size of it for starters! Then admire the indulgent, truffley-ness of the chocolate base (oh myyyy!). Lest we forget the oozing caramel and the veritable nut explosion (name of your sex tape).
My biggest regret in life is not ordering twenty more of them!
Best chocolate bar of the bunch?
It’s a close draw between the PB Wafer and the Snackurz
