A short and sweet post for you today and another piece of my Paris trip; the penultimate food post from my trip. Vegan Folie’s is a sweet little Vegan cake shop is just a short walk south from Notre Dame, near Jardin des Plantes in the 5th arrondissement.
Cupcakes are €4 each and they also serve brownies, cookies, cheesecakes and sandwiches. You can buy boxes of Booja Booja chocolates as well and they had some books on sale.
The names of the cupcakes are all genius. Highlights include Bunny Tyler (carrot cake), Pear Harbour (pear, chocolate and caramel) and Rosa Pinks (rose and orange).
We all got the same cupcake – Les Revoltes du Bounty – chocolate and coconut. The chocolate icing was really good and went pretty far down inside the cake (love it when that happens) and the vanilla cake was packed full of coconut. Not the best cake I’ve ever had (I think next time I will have to try one of every flavour, ya know – for research purposes) but you’ll be hard stretched to find any Vegan cake options in Paris and that makes this place all the sweeter and I can’t wait to get back there!
