It’s been a while since my last Zizzi post, since then they have started offering more and more and more and have firmly placed themselves at the top of the UK High Street for Vegans.

With the recent addition of the Chocolate torte pudding, they’re just getting stronger and stronger!

The Bruschetta is so fresh and summery with its baby plum tomatoes, red onion and roasted garlic in extra virgin olive oil on toasted bread with super green pesto and fresh basil. WHAMMY! It’s like having an entire jug of Pimms thrown in your face! SUMMER!

I often change my main order but I can’t see myself ever changing my starter order from this! 10/10

I don’t have much to say about the olives because, well, they’re olives. They are nice olives.

At Zizzi the two main contenders for your main course are Pizza or Pasta. The salad does sound lovely but the pizza and the pasta are very very very good.

Zizzi use Mozzarisella on their pizzas, which I love; it’s creamy and gooey and isn’t too cheesy. It is mild enough that even my cheese hating husband can enjoy it. I have seen a lot of people confess they don’t like it but I would urge you to give it a try and see for yourself!

When they first brought out the lentil rags I was all over it! I love to smother it in chilli oil, add extra toppings – fresh chillies and caramelised onions but also it tastes eerily similar to my own version – recipe here.

The next picture was taken on my most recent trip to Zizzi (about 2 months ago) and the picture below this one was taken back in the Spring. Please note the difference in how much ragu you get. Not great! Puts me into a bit of a ragu rage tbh.

I am a big garlic bread fan. Aren’t we all? Should we start a club?

I am not so much of a fan of the style of garlic bread on offer at Zizzi although I do applaud all of those chunks of garlic!

(The piece below is COATED in chilli oil)

WELL. This dessert is the best. Utterly the best. Zizzi could easily have been all ‘let’s just give the vegans a tin of peaches for their pudding’ but no. Some mother flipping’ GENIUS in need of a pay rise at Zizzi piped up in the board room and said ‘I think vegans like chocolate too’. And Goddamnit were they right!

This pudding should win an EGOT, it is THAT good. That’s right. If this pudding were a person, it wouldn’t even be Meryl Streep…it would be Lin Manuel Miranda.

Creamy, rich chocolate ganache, a buttery biscuit base, more (vegan) honeycomb than you can shake a stick at and the smoothest, freshest delicate scoop of coconut chocolate ripple ice cream (that if anyone knows which brand of ice cream they use PLEASE TELL ME).

And finally, I can confirm they will give you some VEGAN stickers to take home with you whether you are a 5 year old boy or a 31 year old Woman.

Thank you, Zizzi, for making eating out on the high street not only easy, but an enjoyable experience!

I love that you got vegan stickers to take home!! SO RAD! I also love that you loved the dessert as much as I did, I was so flipping excited when I saw it on the menu and then I told myself to calm down until I’d actually tried it and then I freaked out because it was so bloody delicious.

I just LOVE Zizzi! I’m yet to try the lentil ragu (I love the pizza that dang much!) but it does look good… they should get some vegan pamesan though maybe? And I cannot wait to try the torte. Gah! Brilliant blog. It’s made me feel FAMISHED at 10.25! X
